Anda #3 - February 22, 2023

Andas are where I share associative blobs of links to what I’ve been exploring, seeing, listening to, and reading. "Anda" means egg in Sanskrit. It's a zone of fertility and creativity.

1. Read this cool article about a 16th century magic mirror with with a hidden image of Buddha.

2. Was not really surprised to learn that we are 60-70% Neanderthal. But this was surprising: people who have inherited a certain Neanderthal chromosome variant, are twice as likely to die of COVID if infected.

3. Music find: Genre-defying South African composer, cellist, vocalist Abel Selaocoe @abelselaocoe.

4. Watched new Beatles documentary on Disney+. Incredible to see some of their most celebrated songs being birthed in real-time. The brilliance of Paul McCartney is a revelation, at least to me.

5. I spy with my little eye. The Intercept uses the Freedom of Information Act to get transcripts of early email conversations between Fauci and NIH scientists about the origins of COVID.

6. And here’s a place where you can learn super-traditional South Indian Vedic chanting. Veda Studies.

7. I am definitely going to make this Vegan Blueberry Earl Grey tart. The whole website is delish.

8. I am definitely not going to make this gluteny pastry with a half stick of butter in every serving! But in another life, in another body. . . Thanks to K108 subscriber Charandas for bringing this. The video is adorable regardless.
