Like a tributary that wanders off to flow under an asphalt parking lot adjacent to a mall, may you one day rejoin the sky-facing river in the wild.
Like a rescued animal roaming the nourishing confines of the reserve, but still confusing it with memories of inhospitable cages, may you recognize your surroundings and relax with companions under the open sky where you have been all along.
Like a true dreamer who has glimpsed the unfolding ahead, but needs to not rush, may you receive everything you need to realize the sky-born potential.
Like a well-meaning friend who has stayed too long at the party of mere acquaintances, may you find your people and settle in under the sky of an intimate summer night.
Like a tiger who loves only the hunt and is annoyed by distractions and the lack of admiration, may you lie on the earth and enjoy life’s lack of urgent accomplishments and destinations.
Like a maniacal accountant who complains about loneliness and the dryness of meditation, may you totally lose the desire to measure or plan or make anything add up. Ahhhhh…
Living at arm’s length and alternately shivering and announcing your sovereignty, may your loneliness lead you back to the absolute intimacy.
Going on continually like the outraged chosen one who is yet to be chosen, holding up the complex edifices of self-delusion, may you eventually exhaust that formidable energy and collapse into a weaker condition of well-earned hilarity and tenderness toward all.
And like a minor actor who keeps playing the same role out of fear of not earning, may you come to enjoy the playful, boundaryless performance with no conditions or guarantees whatsoever.
